3 year-old Temper Tantrums

You know, this *sleep* thing that everyone talks about is highly over-rated. I haven't had a decent night's sleep since I became a mom almost 11 years ago. And you'd think that with my youngest being 3 that I'd be snoozin' away. Yeah, right.

We have 3 boys and 1 girl--in that order. I'll give you one big guess as to who runs the show around our house. You're right--it's NOT me! Until about 6 months ago, my daughter has honestly been the absolute joy of my life. And then the terrible 2's hit. And they hit HARD. It seems as though overnight she went from a sweet angel to a little devil!!! Don't get me wrong, she's still my sweetie--her tantrums come and go---but when they come, they stick around for a while.

Her latest *thing* is to wake up in the middle of the night screaming bloody murder. My husband and I are jolted out of our sleep to deafening cries, sure that she's being attacked or has fallen. Oh no. It's something MUCH more serious. She didn't tuck in her baby dolls and her stuffed monkey friends. And we only find that out after about 30 minutes of incessant screaming and stripping. Yes, I said stripping. McKenzie has this strange little quirk...she takes off all her clothes when she's throwing a tantrum. Lovely, huh? Let's hope she gets that out of her system NOW.

So to make a long story longer...!!...we started the week out on the wrong side of the bed last night with one of her glorious displays at 2:00 a.m. I'll probably be taking a nap with her instead of stamping this afternoon. I promise, it's for the best!!!

Have a fabulous tantrum-free day!!!

Oh my goodness! You poor girl. I wish I could say that once the terrible two's are over things get better. Sorry! Little girls are moody lil things. Keep your chin up and remember to take care of you and get that stamping time in! Hee hee this will pass, then a new phase will come along.

LOL...I mean literally...this is too funny, but on the other side, it's not funny at all. Daughters seem to be harder to raise than sons. They have such mood swings. Hang in there and remember, when your stampin, your relaxin :)

I hear you! I haven't had a full nights sleep since before my little ds (3) was born. Hope you find some time during the day where you can rest for awhile!

I'm hoping that this is short lived stage and you get some full nights sleep before too long!

Oh I can so relate!! Well not to the middle of the night thing but to the temper tantrums in general. Our little girl - 22 months is an expert at them. Sending you all my sympathies and sleep vibes for your little girl!

My son will be 3 on Saturday. When he was a baby he slept like a rock. Ever since he turned 2 1/2 he has started waking up 2-4 times a night! It has gotten better but now he wakes up gets in our bed and goes to sleep for an hour or so wakes up and says he wants to go back to his bed! I want one night of sleep were I sleep all through the night!

Sounds like a real party at the ole homestead. Hopefully she finds a less stressful hobby soon. By the way, you have been tagged. Read my blog for more info :)
