It's Easy Bein' Green (Casted)....for Nate!

Nate had his Dr.'s appt. this morning and he's ALL smiles! Why, you ask? He doesn't have to have surgery on his arm!! The doc is 95% positive that it will heal properly without having to put pins in it. Hooray for Nate and hooray for our checkbook! A huge thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. The doctor was very pleasantly surprised when he saw today's x-rays--he really wasn't optimistic on Saturday because it was so tough for them to get his bone back in place. Nate chose his favorite color green for the cast color. In his words, "A green cast is just SO totally cool lookin'!" Nate--I LOVE your positive attitude and your strength! He told me it didn't hurt a bit when the Dr. was putting pressure on his wrist today to nudge the bone back into place. He just sat there and didn't so much as wince. Tough. Way tough kid. It really IS easy for him to be green!!
I also got the privilege of being the first person to sign his cast. I was such a dork as a kid--I always wanted to have a broken arm JUST so that I could walk around with a sling on and have people sign my cast! After seeing what a major inconvenience/pain it is, I'm SO glad I didn't!

Rock on, green-casted boy!

For my stampin' friends...I'll post my fave make n takes (from the Utah SCS get-together) tomorrow!

YAY-HOORAY!! Glad "the casting" went well. I was SO SAD when I heard about Mr. Nater Patater. The down side (the only one) of being an aunt..worrying about the little one's hardships!! It was so funny talking to already hyper Nate on Loritab!! Maybe that shouldn't be so funny to me...see you Saturday!

I wanted a cast as a kid too- never got one. I guess we are both nerds for wanting a cast huh? :)

You ROCK Nate! I know you must be proud of him for being so brave. My DD had a purple cast when she broke her ankle as a teen. She was just as proud as Nate, because it was so cool. I'm so glad he didn't have to have surgery :)

I'm so happy for you that your son did not have to have surgery. what a relief for you! Love the green cast. With 4 kids we've had our share of castings. My kids were disappointed cause their doc didn't offer any funky colors. just the plain old white ones! lol

Well, even though he did end up having to have surgery (poor guy!), we're so proud of our tough-as-nails Nate! I'm so glad I got to be in Utah and that I got to see him and give him a "love" in person. Nothing stops this kid, that's for sure! I think I was almost as sad for you, Meliss, as I was for Nate. Nothing's harder for a mom than watching their little ones suffer! But what a sweetheart -- my new favorite Nate quote (and there are several, including the infamous "Who wants to mess with Fiona?!") is "All I need is you, Mom." Too tender!
